Theme: Higher Ground

Theme Explanation: Theme Explanation: This year’s theme is “Higher Ground”. The idea behind our theme is to continue to strive for better things in our lives, just as our text speaks of.

Sometimes as Christians we become satisfied with the spiritual level or plateau that we have reached. It may be because we find ourselves higher than others around us. We may feel like that as long as we are “above average” Christians that we no longer need to strive for more. However, we must realize that there is always room to grow and improve in our spiritual life. In our text, the Hebrew writer explains that he expected the Hebrews to do “better things” and continue to climb higher in their spiritual walk. He also stated that he did not want them to become “sluggish”. We challenge you this year to find some aspects of your Christian life and do your best to grow and improve in those areas.
